This is timely Cindy — We were victims of credit card fraud late this summer, when suddenly our charge card was declined. Turned out there were charges on it coming from California while we were up north. The card company noticed it immediately, and thankfully, put a hold on the card. We were able to rectify the situation in time.
It happened to someone in our family, too, with the card number being used in California, also.
