Want to be smarter? Start sweating

According to ABC News reporter Claire Shipman, people increase their brain power by about 10 percent after they exercise. So instead of “teaching to the test,” maybe schools should let kids run around for 20 or 30 minutes instead.

  1. I’ve always believed this, Cindy. I always feel sharper after my morning bike rides. When I hit a wall with my work, I always get outside for fresh air and get moving!

  2. I agree, Cindy. I always feel more clear-headed after a good session of exercise. I think just getting outside is helpful in itself, but exercising outside is even better!

  3. And if I can’t get outside, I climb on the treadmill to get the juices flowing. Time and time again this has helped me get out of a funk.
