Debt debacle obscures big international news

August 3, 2011

Now that every American news cycle is not dominated by the drama of the debt ceiling debacle, I’m finding international stories that I didn’t realize were even on the radar.

For instance:

ICELAND — After going bankrupt by following disastrous economic policies, this Nordic country has reemerged with a strong economy. Click here to see how.

ISRAEL — Right now, there are massive protests in Israel. Click here to see why.

  1. It’s a relief not to have to live with that debt ceiling tension anymore. I’m glad to hear Iceland is recovering, they were one of the first to go into the world-wide recession.

  2. I don’t think we’re out of the woods with the financial stories … but you’re right about the issue obscuring all else on the radar!
